Obituary for Lynette Marie Inman

Lynette Marie Inman
Lynette Marie Inman September 6, 1943- July 12, 2012 Lynette Inman was born in Tacoma, WA, to Margery and Harlow Inman, the most dedicated and loving parents any special needs child could ever hope for. Brain-damaged at birth, Lynette lived with her parents for sixty-one years until their age and health needs finally separated them from the daughter they loved, served, and cherished for so long. Lynette moved from Tacoma to the Greenbluff Terrace Adult Family Home in Spokane in 2004, where she immediately found herself immersed in a completely different type of family life. She rose to the challenge, and over the next eight years came to consider Greenbluff her home. Lynette punct-uated her years with anticipating and celebrating holidays. She looked forward to them with the unbridled enthusiasm of a four-year-old and could draw even the most hardened scrooge into the magic and joy of every season. Wheelchair-bound and unable to learn to read or write, Lynette would sit by the hour every day copying the names of her parents, her six siblings and their spouses, her aunts and uncles, her sixteen nieces and nephews, and her twenty-four grand nieces and nephews. She truly consid-ered that her most important work and loyally and faithfully dedicated herself to that task. Lynette died peacefully at home after a two-week illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margery in 2008. She is survived by her father, Harlow Inman, her sisters Joey (Ray) Riepe, and Susan (Tom) Smith, and her brothers Michael Inman, Paddy (Teri) Inman, Larry (Liann) Inman, and Dan (Barb) Inman. Lynette's family will be forever grateful for the loving care she received from Debby Doesburg and her staff at Greenbluff Terrace Adult Family Home and for the assistance provided by Horizon Hospice in her final days. Lynette will have a private family farewell celebration of her life. Please consider a donation in Lynette's name to L'Arche Spokane, 703 E. Nora, Spokane, 99207-2455.
